The death penalty has long been a big topic of discussion within the United States, however within the past 25 years the use of it has become fewer and fewer, in the end just causing us, the taxpayers, to have to pay more and more for the criminal. I am proposing an abolishing of the death penalty, except for crimes such as terrorism, mass killings, treason, or anything found to be as heinous. In which case, if found to be guilty (by proof of mass amounts of evidence) of one of these crimes, there will be no pleas, repeal processes, or interest groups to try and reverse the process, and after a short amount of time the criminal will be executed. Saving us the taxpayers money, and setting the example that we as a country will not tolerate the most disturbing and wicked of crimes.
