Federally ban companies from using any partially hydrogenated oils (artificial trans fat) in foods.

Created by H.M. on December 03, 2012

Currently, companies are allowed to label foods with less than .5 grams of trans fat per serving as trans fat free, even if there is trans fat in the food. This is deceptive and potentially harmful, as consuming more than 4 grams of trans fat a day is highly connected to inflammation, Type II Diabetes, heart disease, and possibly cancer. The average American takes in 5.6 grams of trans fat a day.

In order to protect our health and well-being, trans fat need to be eliminated from our daily diet. This can happen by banning trans fats in all of our foods.
