Federally control gas prices, by any means, as to stop speculation by hedgefunds and oil companies from driving up price

Created by M.S. on June 24, 2014

Gas prices have reached a new high! It seems that every little foreign incident allows for the price of gas to jump and yet it never seems to fully go back down when that incident is over. This has led to a steady increase in the price of gasoline over the last 30 years. In 2004, the average price of gas jumped to a high above 2$ a gallon. Today the average is 3.70$ a gallon. The truth is that speculation by hedgefunds and oil companies on the stock market manipulate the price and use events such as the Russian insurgency in Ukraine or the civil war in Syria to justify it. The reality is, gas or energy controls the price of everything and slowly if gas is more expensive so is bread. The cost of living is going up and its because of the rise of gas prices. When will we make this an issue???
