Many states have their own laws regulating the medical and/or recreational use of marijuana, while the Federal law still prohibits its use. These states have suggested that the use of marijuana has medical benefits, and, just like consuming alcohol, is okay for recreational use. The government should allow for the decriminalization of the medical and/or recreational use of marijuana.
It is also classified as a Schedule 1 drug, the highest-risk classification, which means that the government feels it has no medical value, and is a considerable health risk. Much research has shown that it does have medical benefits, and that it is not nearly as much of a health risk as other Schedule 1 drugs. This should also be adjusted, and it should be changed to, at least, a Schedule 3, if possible.
