Federally Legalize Gay Marriage.

Created by C.H. on December 18, 2012

Marriage equality will never exist until gay marriage is Federally Legalized.

Marriages between a man and woman entitle those individuals to immigration, financial, and medical rights. Those same rights are not available to gay individuals even if they are married in a State that has legalized it.

If a man and woman are legally married in the United States, but only one of them is a citizen; the other is allowed citizenship under the marriage. If a man and a man, or a woman and a woman are legally married but only one is a citizen they are not given the same privilege. This is only one example of the many rights denied to gay families.

If every American citizen is to be treated equal, then that includes every Gay citizen as well.

Make Equality a Federal Issue.
