The Declaration of Independence clearly states: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."
It would seem to me that the right of every man and woman to marry whosoever their heart and soul desires should be counted amidst these "unalienable Rights" and that indeed it should be considered a form of "the pursuit of Happiness."
We the undersigned declare with one voice that in a country built upon the foundations of Freedom and Equality, it is our solemn obligation to pass a law which declares that marriage must not be defined as between a man and a woman, but as between two persons who love one another in their hearts.
