Federally legalize recreational marijuana. Revisit the cases of those imprisoned for its use.

Created by C.C. on July 16, 2015

Make the use of medical and recreational marijuana no longer illegal on the federal level. This is a substance with undeniable benefits and nearly no negative consequences. Publics attitudes on this subject have changed drastically and the law needs to reflect these changes. With states already creating their own laws legalizing "it", we the undersigned feel it is time fit a change. Alcohol and pharmaceuticals are abused with deadly consequences on a daily basis and are legal and heavily advertised.

It would be much better to license and tax the sale of this harmless plant. This money could then be used for government programs and drug abuse classes for those who do need counseling.

The prison sentences of those incarcerated for nothing more than using marijuana should be commuted.
