Federally legalize the recreational use of marijuana or at least legalize the use of marijuana in the state of Texas!!!

I would like to petition for the federal government to officially legalize the recreational use of marijuana. There are no recorded deaths directly linked to marijuana usage in history, unlike alcohol and prescription medication. We have come to a point in our society where every citizen should be treated as an adult and the government should enable the American people to choose what they believe is best for their health. If government is going to have the ability to allocate which citizens are allowed healthcare then we should be allowed to self medicate or at least relax without recourse from the federal government.
