Those who are between eighteen and twenty years of age are considered full adults with all the priveleges and responsibilities that go along with it. However, the government has decided to suspend the priviledge of alcoholic consumption, transportation, and sale from a group of the adult population (ages 18-20). There are several problems caused by this legislation, including the undermining of the status of adulthood in those persons aged 18-20, a huge amount of revenue lost to neighboring countries, because people will cross the border to drink, and a negative international image due to our drinking age being the highest in the developed world, which greatly reduces tourism. When a person becomes a legal adult they should be treated as an adult, without exception.
