Due to public concerns about police abuse, brutality, and murder, especially against African Americans, Hispanics, and other minorities, we believe that the Department of Justice should conduct a nationwide review of every police department in the United States. The purpose of this review is to validate their training, their procedures, and their rules of engagement if required to use lethal force. Additionally, we believe that the Department of Justice should take action immediately to ban police officers from carrying firearms during routine duty: patrolling, walking the beat, and emergency response; have those firearms accessible but not on their person. The purpose of this action is to integrate police officers within their community without being viewed as a threat to its citizens
