federally mandate helmets for motorcycles in all 50 states.

Created by P.S. on April 09, 2013

Currently in the United States, the issue of motorcycle helmets and whether or not they should be required for riders is left for states to decide. There are still states that either only require helmets for minors, or don't require helmets at all.

People who aren't killed from a motorcycle crash resulting in brain trauma are often left with severe traumatic brain injuries requiring highly expensive surgeries. A mandate for helmets in all states would lower the number of fatalities and brain injuries. It should not be a right to not wear a helmet, because this is a bad decision. Helmets are just as important as seatbelts, and should be the law in all 50 states.
