Federally mandate Tarpon as a migratory species protected by catch and release regulations. Stop the killing for sport of  Tarpon ( they age up to 80+ years) in federally protected waters. Tarpon is considered a non edible fish, they are killed during spear fishing tournaments off the gulf coast around oil rigs and other locations. They  advertise rewards for largest spawning female speared in tournaments, almost all the fish are disposed of after the tournament. Sign this petition to give the majestic and ancient Tarpon the same protection we grant ducks. Tarpon that migrate through Florida are being spear fished for sport in Louisiana.
