Federally mandate that United States' school curriculums include classes focusing on mental/emotional health of students

Created by T.P. on June 11, 2014

Extreme violence is occurring at an alarming rate in our nation’s schools. We ask that the government mandate U.S. school curriculums to include mental/emotional health classes in grades K-12. These classes would teach the importance of mental/emotional health, and would teach children that feeling emotions is a natural and healthy part of being human. Children would learn healthy ways of expressing these emotions. These classes would discuss bullying and the psychology of it. Children would learn acceptance and compassion for others by starting with acceptance and compassion for oneself. As a result, we’d see less shootings, stabbings, and acts of violence in general, as well as less bullying, and less alcohol and drug abuse. Well-adjusted children grow to become well-adjusted adults.
