federally recognize the right of workers to take meal breaks and restroom breaks.

Created by D.G. on November 22, 2014

Employers are not required to provide meal or restroom breaks under federal law. These are vital life functions that should not be put on hold for 8 hours or longer, since employers are allowed to dictate that employees work overtime as a condition of employment.
