Federally restrict media coverage of criminal offenders name, history, and other information

Created by J.H. on December 27, 2012

When the media makes a criminal famous, it never benefits the rest of our country. Popularizing criminals incites criminal behavior to worsen by giving other individuals an atrocity to top, specifically mass shootings and spree killings. This petition proposes media guidelines upon what information about a criminal can should be released to the general public at the different stages in law enforcement. Change law enforcement public relations policies to stop the proliferation of crime and give new guidelines to the media to stop crime popularization - no more names and pictures of criminals to the general public via news outlets or other media.
