federally stop the discrimination of previous criminals & or probationers/parolees in the workplace and housing.

This petition is for former criminals and or parolees/probationers. People who have records are discriminated against due to having things show up on a background check. I feel this is immoral since a prior criminal has already served his time. Probationers/parolees are on a track to change for the better. How is a person to change for the better if no one will give you a chance. It's hard enough to find work these days without a record. A person should be judged on if he or she is qualified for the job. Not a past crime. Nor should a person be denied a place to live due to a prior crime either. A prior thief that can't get a job might be tempted to steal again. Just to simply survive. We are all people that deserve equal opportunity to survive.
