Felonies: Can never get your right to bare arms back...EVER!!

I do not feel that if a person that is convicted of a simple FELONY should NEVER have the rights to own a firearm. I realize that what I did 25 years ago was wrong, but why do will I never have the right to defend my family, if the need arrived. I don't feel that all felonies should be treated the same, they should be based on the crime. If you commit a crime with a handgun (or any gun) it should be revolked permanently. But "forgery", that seems silly and should not evoke the blanketed "FELONY" law. I realize that gun laws are tightening but it is still an inailiable right to own a gun and defend your family. And as long as you are registered and screened it should not be an issue if you are a low level felon. Which in itself, has changed my life irrevocably. Take Care!
