Felons and Employment Asking Congress to review the laws that are making it impossible for for us to find employment

This is such an important issue because there are people like myself who have changed their lives for the better and are still struggling in order to keep a roof over their head. We need a law passed that is something to the effect that an employer can only do a background check for the last 2-3 years. We (felons)need to be able to have a fair chance to prove that we can be productive citizens of our communities. We have the right to be able to support ourselves and our loved ones. Most of us are living on assistance or are back to doing all the wrong things. Not because we want to but because we are forced to in order to live. That is unacceptable and unfair. We have paid our dues to society for our crimes. Therefore the actions of our past should not be a plague on our futures.
