Fight for Campaign Finance Reform Beginning with the House of Representatives

Created by P.K. on November 09, 2012

The "People's House" has a vital role to play in our Constitutional system that must be restored through campaign finance reform focused first and foremost on the Lower Chamber. The framers clearly intended the House of Representatives to be that body of the Federal government closest to and best able to reflect the will of the people. They named it that for a reason. Given the number and frequency of elections for House seats, the People's voice is most vulnerable to misrepresentation due to the undue influence of virtually uncontrolled big money donations often originating far from the Districts ostensibly represented. President Obama, the first constitutional scholar by profession reelected President in modern times, can and must lead the way toward workable solutions in this field.
