US Congress salaries are $174,000 a year! How can they say they understand the average American when there annual salary puts them $100,000+ over the current average American's salary? With 435 in House and 100 in Senate, that means in salaries alone, we are paying $93,090,000! What are we, the American people getting for this? We get a Congress who would rather cut programs and funding for the Americans who really could use a helping hand in these hard times. A Congress who cuts Government jobs at the bottom of the totem pole, the jobs held by hard-working, everyday Americans. A Congress who wants to cut food stamps and cut funding for National Parks...it's time we demand Congress to take a pay cut like they have asked all of us to do.
