As citizens of The United States of America, we have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. However, holding a job in a workplace that lacks a common language, creates a setting which belittles your life, oppresses your liberty, and abandons your happiness. Privately run institutes, despite their federal funding, are legally granted the right to deny a person a job, simply due to their intolerance to involve an intellectually disabled person in their exclusive environment. Our nation's history revolves around one goal: "Liberty and justice for all." This concept has shaped American culture since Francis Bellamy wrote it into our pledge of allegiance in 1892. Legislation is necessary because institutes believe this notion excludes the deaf and disabled.
