Fight to end private contributions to political candidates in favor of public financing.

"Citizens United" was just one more step to further corrupt a system that was already terribly corrupt. How can a politician act in the public good when they are so beholden to private contributors that they cannot operate in a way that will offend them? Our elected officials should be able to vote their conscience on the issues and legislation before them, with the good of the Nation in mind, and not have to worry if their position will cost them the campaign money they need in order to get re-elected, money (and LOTS of it), usually from very few, but very powerful Special Interests that do not have the good of the Nation in mind, but their own selfish interests. Politicians cannot work for "The People", if someone other than "The People" are paying for them to stay in office.
