Many public schools tell their students that they "lose some of their rights" when they step on the school property. This is unacceptable. I am petitioning the White House to investigate this practice, and put an end to it. Last year, my high school principal threatened disciplinary action against a student who started a petition against new policies. The action was threatened specifically because the student had started a petition. Because of this threat, a majority of the students who had signed the petition quickly withdrew their names. The right to petition should not be hindered or threatened in any way whatsoever.
