Travel helps to open minds. Too many Americans have never traveled to another country. Study abroad programs are expensive and out of reach for most families. Promoting study abroad programs and providing financial aid for needy students would have an amazing effect on the cultural IQ and attitude of the electorate. Perhaps the government could partner with private companies and foreign entities to create and sponsor new study abroad programs that involve internships and service projects. A win-win situation!
