Sections 1021 and 1022 of the National Defense Authorization Act 2012 clearly allow U.S. citizens to be detained indefinitely without trial. The conditions on which a citizen can be detained are vague and not defined. For example "Belligerent Acts" is not defined yet if you commit one you are a covered person who can be detained. Another example is the use of the phrase "Associated Forces" this is not clearly defined. These sections are in clear violation of amendments five and six of the U.S. Constitution, the supreme law of the land. Therefore these sections should be removed or amended in order to protect the rights of U.S. citizens. I request that the Obama Administration, despite the president approving this bill, stand by the oath to protect the constitution and fight these sections.
