File a brief with the Supreme Court opposing Prop 8

Request that the President direct the DOJ to file a brief with the Supreme Court in support of the right of same-sex couples to marry and the overturning of California's Proposition 8 on the grounds that prohibiting same-sex marriage is a violation of the Equal Protection Clause in the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution. Then Senator Obama's stated opposition to same-sex marriage in the 2008 campaign was used by the Prop 8 proponents to support their discriminatory cause. It is therefore now incumbent on the administration to back up its proclaimed support for equality with appropriate legal arguments to the Court
