In order for the youth of America to stay involved and invested in their government they need to see that their government understands, appreciates and relates to the prevailing cultural trends of America's youth. It could also help promote the First Lady's "Get Up and Move" initiative of youth wellness by connecting it to relevant popular culture in a fun, positive manner. Such a performance might also be an opportunity to showcase bipartisanship should the Republican leadership care to join in the festivities.
