The Korean War is still ongoing to this day; a fact not many seem to realize. Because of this North and South Korea have had rocky relations following the armistice. While many may think that North Korea is merely a harsh dictatorship that makes its people suffer and uses a nuclear program that threatens the world's powers, the North Korean government claims that their actions are necessary for self defense or blame the lack of a treaty. While we may speculate whether these reasons are true or not, the lack of a treaty certainly would cause panic or fear, as an armistice alone does not resolve the issues of the Korean War. A treaty would create a lasting peace between not only these two countries but also their relations to the world, should the treaty be fair and just.
