It is time to finally put an end to the electoral college and move to a direct election of the President of the United States by popular vote.
The Electoral College no longer serves a purpose in our country today, and we as a people should not be limited to ideas from over 200 years ago.
This is even an issue on which President-Elect Trump and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton agree. Both have voiced their opinions on doing away with the Electoral College, him during the 2012 election, and her after the 2000 election.
The electoral college is not fair, it certainly is not equal, and it drowns out the minority in favor of the majority. It divides the country into red states and blue states when every state is a shade of purple.
