Finally end the Electoral College system for General Elections and the National Conventions for the Primaries

This petition is to abolish the broken system of the electoral college and the political parties national conventions, as it is no longer needed, and at this point hindering true government dictated by the people. Four times in history the electoral college has failed based on the popular vote: 1824, 1876, 1888, and 2000. This is 4 times too many, as our government now has the ability to track the popular vote of everyone. The national conventions should also be abolished due to their unneeded intervention in primaries. Their ability to hold a contested convention to select a candidate regardless of delegate count is wrong and not true democracy. Its time to reinstate the true intentions of elections and give the people their voice in government as it should be heard: unfiltered.
