Rocky Flats Plant (made plutonium triggers) opperated in Colorado from 1952-1989, finally closing with an FBI raid that determined the plant commited serious contamination. Officials lied about the saftey of the workers and those who lived near the plant. Fires & leaks sent dangerous levels of plutonium & other toxins all over the communities. People who've been diagnosed with cancer or have died from the plant's contamination have petitioned for monetary awards since they were not made aware of risks. In 2000 Congress admitted to wrong doing & passed a bill promising to pay the people. DOE got $74 mil to distribute yet still, people are being denied and their claims. It's a mess of false calculations for dosage of radioactive exposure, long waiting times, & piles of paper. We need action!
