Wind power is our country's foremost economically feasible, inexhaustible energy resource. Unfortunately its most productive source is the Northern and High Plains -- rather distant from major population and industrial centers.
Getting the power to market requires a "smart" and efficient modern power grid that must cut dedicated new swaths across many states. These rights-of-way are ideal for multi-use with advanced electrified transportation systems.
Like the TVA of the 20th Century, the multiple economic benefits from a 21st Century National Power and Transportation Grid can be financed at rock-bottom long-term rates and leased back to private interests at little or no ultimate cost to the public. It can transform impoverished Indian Nations and help get us out of our economic hole.
