Financial Aid for Religious Organizations

Created by D.S. on August 06, 2015

The federal government has given billions in financial aid to religious organizations in the form of tax exemptions. The cost of this aid far exceeds any perceived gains received by the nation from religious organizations. The money saved by stoping these subsidies could be use to create tangible benefits like ending world hunger and providing education for the poor. In addition, several religious organizations have been harmful to the nation by preaching pseudoscience, bigotry, racism, and hate. This financial support of religion sends a clear message that the U.S. values, favors, and supports its religious citizens over its non-religious citizens. The U.S. should not be in the business of supporting religion or any god. Stop the federal support of deities and tax religious organizations.
