Fighting cancer and other sicknesses are an important struggle in our time. It recently came to my attention that naked mole rats are nearly, if not completely, immune to any form of cancer. This includes cancer caused by exposure to radiation. This is a big deal. There must be a way to use this to fight cancer while remaining relatively humane to the species. Even though there may be some ethical arguments over this, I believe that protecting ourselves and those we love from cancer and other serious illnesses have a vast ethical value of its own. Sign this petition only if you agree that finding cures for disease is an important goal for our government-funded scientists to work on.
