When I don't go to work, I don't get paid. Congress members who don't show up for the job or refuse to do their job should NOT be paid during that time. Our government has had too much obstructionism on BOTH sides of the aisle and it needs to stop. Politics is about working together to find a solution that works for ALL the people. It is not about throwing a temper tantrum and refusing to work.
When a member of the Senate or the House of Representatives is acting in an obstructionist manner such as a filibuster, not being present for a vote or refusing to honor passages of the constitution their pay shall have a deduction of a per diem rate for the days that they are engaged in obstructionist behavior. That money would be better spent within the government than in political welfare.
