We elect these folks to do one thing, vote in our stead. Why should they ever be absent or simply vote "Present" as a way of avoiding their jobs. I think that if we hit them in their wallets, they may wake up and realize what they were elected to do. $1000.00 for every missed or "Present" vote might just garner a little attention from them and toss that money into the General fund. Us common folks have to live by rules why not them?
