Fine parents/guardians for recording and posting abusive disciplinary content of their children online

Created by G.C. on May 08, 2014

There is an alarming trend of parents/guardians recording themselves physically disciplining their children and posting the content online. Even in cases when the actual disciplining didn't cross over into abuse, the long-term impact by having these videos published could be devastating to a child's esteem, potentially leading to such things as bullying, suicide, substance abuse, and even running away from home.

As if the physical punishment isn't enough (I have seen vids of kids being slapped, punched, beaten with belts, heads shaven..etc) to have it posted online is just cruel and needs to stop.

Maybe if parents knew that they would be potentially fined for doing so, these sorts of videos would become less common.
