"Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted." In the Aaron Swartz case, an excessive fine of $1 million dollars was one of the cruel punishments Swartz was facing. He was also facing up to thirty-five years in prison. These are two examples of cruel and unusual punishment being imposed on Swartz. Violation of the eighth amendment is grounds to remove Stephen Heymann from his office of Assistant Attorney in Attorney Carmen Ortiz's Internet and Computer Crimes Unit. The blood of a Internet innovator is on the hands of Stephen Heymann and he should be fired to prevent the deaths of other innocent Americans due to overreach in a court of law.
