In the event of a government shutdown, every single member of congress should be held responsible for their utter failures and fired, immediately from their positions, rather than allow them to farther damage the country all the while paying themselves.
This includes the President of the United States, the Presidential Cabinet, The Senate, The House of Representatives.
It is their duty to keep the government running. If they fail, they are obviously unfit for employment in such offices and their employment by the American people should be terminated the same moment they declare a shutdown, and replaced by more competent people.
