Fire Eric Shinseki as Secretary of Veterans Affairs

Created by E.S. on April 08, 2013

Almost 1 million veterans are currently waiting for their benefit claims to be processed, a wait time that has grown 2,000 percent in the past four years. The average time for the resolution of a disability claim is 279 days, with first time claims averaging 318 days - this leaves veterans to pay for expenses on their own in the meantime. The VA has said they expect to have this resolved by the year 2015!

Other issues include a surge in the psychological needs of veterans for which the VA has not met, an Office of Special Counsel report that last month found a pattern of problems at VA medical centers, and issues coordinating job services for veterans.

Shinseki has been in charge since 2009 and is clearly FAILING! We need new leadership and our veterans deserve so much more.
