“I took my eye off the ball in the commands I had,” said Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Any justice system that requires one person to "keep his eye on the ball" in order for it to work is worthless. General Dempsey's failure to act, coupled with his resistance to meaningful reform of military justice shows he is not fit for service, let alone a leadership position.
He needs to step down or be fired.
