James Comey must have his good points, or else he never would have been given the responsibility of heading the FBI. But his constant tripping over his own feet handling the political dimensions of the Clinton e-mail "scandal" seriously detract from his ability to successfully lead the agency. What sort of moron announces, two weeks before a presidential election, that the FBI may or may not have vague, unexplained questions about one of the presidential candidates? The best guess is that Comey is a wilting flower who could not handle the political pressure that his fellow Republicans were putting him under, so he reacts with this. It may not advance the interests of the nation (or the FBI) one iota, but it sure will make it easier to get invited back to his friends' dinner parties.
