With interest rates being kept artificially low, and the national debt rising to numbers previously thought ludicrous, it has become obvious that government spending needs to be reduced, and the budget balanced.
That being said, we the signers of this petition are both confused and alarmed that our elected leaders in the white house and Congress are suggesting we cut funding to our military and defense. There are 22,461,691 government employees. Almost all of them do little work and accomplish nothing. Not a single dollar should be taken from our military budget before at lease 90% of these sinecures and useless positions are eliminated.
