President Obama, please fire Michele M. Leonhart, Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration, effective immediately.
Ms. Leonhart made a speech this week to a sheriff's association slamming Mr. Obama's position on marijuana, claiming that Mr. Obama 'doesn't understand the science' on cannabis, etc.
Mr. Obama, you must not continue to allow your appointees to continue attacking your position, in public and private. As the executive leader of "the largest organization in the world", you MUST impose organizational discipline or you will lose all remaining credibility.
Fire Ms. Leonhart, and nominate someone who is not a career DC 'drug warrior'. If Congress will not confirm your nominee, leave the DEA with no Administrator - they have accomplished nothing in 40+ years.
