Simple solution, Why we dont treat Guns like we treat automobiles. Of course you can buy any car in the market, but you need registration and insurance before you can drive it. Similar buy any Gun, but you have to be responsible for it. So let use some of the analogy of driving and owning a vehicle. You will not let anyone who is mental, intoxicate, or not responsible drive your car. So you are liable for what happen with your car. We the people should be accountable for our action.
