Freedom of religion has long been a hallmark of the U.S. constitution. But over the past several decades it has become an Amendment that favors the protection of paedophiles from criminal prosecution. Was this really why the First Amendment was written?
Many paedophile Catholic priests have escaped punishment simply because they are clergy members. Muhammad, the founder of Islam, was a paedophile, and so were his companions. And the Qur'an openly permits paedophilia for Muslims. Jehovah's Witness elders have thousands of times allowed paedophiles among their members to go unreported, and allowed continued association with children. And there are more examples.
The First Amendment should not be used as a tool for protecting child abusers. Please adjust it, and hold religions accountable.
