If we, as a country, elect our first woman President, we would need to rethink the title for the President's spouse. I propose that we have complementary title to the First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS) that would preserve the pronunciation of our acronyms (e.g. POTUS, SCOTUS). After some consideration, the best title with minimal change would be the First Lad of the United States. This preserves the FLOTUS title while making it more general.
