Many economists agree that the minimum wage causes further unemployment and destruction to the economy. Although large corporations such as McDonald's and Walmart are able to pay their workers higher wages if required by law, many small to medium businesses are forced to lay off workers or are unable to hire more workers when they otherwise would.
If liberals believe in the minimum wage they should raise it to a modest 15 dollars per hour and enforce it. This will allow them to see its full effects and repeal it. Once and for all.
