Closing the GAP will make insurance affordable to more people, also by not closing the GAP it is causing employees to get their employees stuck paying for more insurance. Employers do not have to offer affordable health for the entire family, and if they don't you can not get subsidized because you have employee coverage, leaving many family's stuck. Fix the loophole.
