Immigration reform would keep families together. It would allow an opportunity to gain better wages and working conditions and help strengthen our country and businesses. Reform can create security for our nation, allowing immigrants to come into the country with a visa, increasing security at our borders. Immigrants who are victims or witnesses of crimes are too afraid to contact the proper authorities for fear of deportation. Immigrants are afraid to testify, battered women and children are too afraid to seek help for fear of deportation. With immigration reform immigrants would not be afraid to report crimes, helping to create a safer country. Immigration reform would help put a stop to the smuggling of drugs, people, weapons across our borders increasing security for our entire nation.
